Wednesday 13 November (7-9.45pm)

Most of the circuit churches prepare food or cater to some degree and a requirement under food safety legislation is that food handlers should receive appropriate supervision and training in food hygiene, to enable them to handle food in the safest way. Food handlers don't have to hold a food hygiene certificate to prepare food, so this course is designed to provide those involved in church catering activities with the basic information needed, without having to sit an exam. The course will be held in the Chapel at GMC and will be taken by Karen Bruce, an Environmental Health Officer – one of the people you might dread walking through the door of your church kitchen! Through her years of experience inspecting commercial kitchens, she will provide an insight into issues relevant to church catering. If you’re involved in church catering and haven’t received any training within the last 3 years, please attend if at all possible. A donation of £2 per person would be appreciated. It would be helpful to have an idea of numbers, so please contact Stephen Orr or Karen Bruce if you are planning to attend.
