I have the pleasure today of returning again to the scene of my first preaching. That place is Newtownkelly, which is on my home circuit – Dungannon – and the occasion today is a harvest thanksgiving service. The first occasion was a Sunday afternoon service in the company of my minister - who was very encouraging - and a small but warm hearted and patient congregation. My Mum and Dad were very fond of the little congregation at Newtownkelly, and happily attended all their special services over many years. So for various reasons I'm delighted to be returning today, even though the building has completely changed and the congregation will be almost totally different. I've changed too of course. Almost 45 years of Christian life and living have made a difference. But the call to preach is still strong, and the privilege of preaching is still felt. Today's message is from Eph 1.3: 'Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.'  I'm so grateful to my Heavenly Father for all he has blessed me with through my Lord and Saviour over all those years. Today's harvest thanksgiving congregation in Newtownkelly will be feeling the same way about this past year. And I pray you are too.  Every Sunday blessing. Sam
